Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Asia Luxury Guide is an editorial publication operated by Asia Luxury Guide Ltd (the "Company", "we", "us"). Our registered office and full corporate details are available on request via editor@asialuxuryguide.com. For privacy enquiries, the same address reaches our data controller.

2. What we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Email address — when you subscribe to our newsletter, request a lead magnet, complete an intake form, or contact us.
  • Name and basic profile — when you submit a form that requires it (lead magnets, intake forms, partner enquiries).
  • Country / vertical interest — derived from the page you converted on, your declared interests on intake forms, and your IP-resolved country.
  • Technical metadata — IP address (resolved to country only), user agent, referrer URL, UTM parameters, and the page paths you visit.
  • Communication content — the body of any message you send us by email or through a form.

3. Why we collect it

We use your data only for the following purposes:

  • To deliver the newsletter, lead magnets, and intake responses you requested.
  • To personalize editorial recommendations to your declared interests.
  • To improve our editorial coverage based on aggregate demand signals.
  • To respond to enquiries and partnership requests.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • To comply with our legal obligations (tax, accounting, data-subject requests).

4. Legal basis

Under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR we rely on the following legal bases: (a) consent for marketing emails and lead-magnet delivery; (b) contract performance for partner enquiries you initiate; (c) legitimate interest for anti-fraud, basic analytics, and editorial improvement; (d) legal obligation for compliance and audit.

5. Where your data lives

We use the following data processors:

  • Supabase — primary database and authentication. Data stored in the EU (Frankfurt) region.
  • Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — email delivery, list management, and marketing automation. Data stored in the EU.
  • Cloudflare — CDN, DNS, edge compute, and bot protection. Data transits Cloudflare's global network with EU residency for primary stores.
  • Sentry — error monitoring. We scrub PII from stack traces. Data stored in the EU.
  • Sanity — content management. Editorial data only, no reader PII.
  • Microsoft Clarity — anonymized session replays for UX research. We disable Clarity for users with Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control headers set, and the recordings are masked by default.

6. How long we keep it

Subscription data is retained until you unsubscribe, plus a 30-day suppression window so we can honour the unsubscribe across systems. Intake responses are retained for 36 months for editorial-research purposes. Technical logs are retained for 90 days.

7. Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU, California, or any other jurisdiction with comparable rights, you can request to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your data (the "right to be forgotten").
  • Restrict processing.
  • Receive your data in a portable format.
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest.
  • Withdraw consent at any time (where consent is the basis).

To exercise any of these rights, email editor@asialuxuryguide.com with the subject "Privacy request". We will respond within 30 days.

8. Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies: a session identifier, a preview-mode token (for authenticated editors), and an analytics cookie set by Cloudflare Web Analytics (which does not track individuals). We do not set advertising cookies.

9. Children

Our content is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe we have, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. International transfers

Where data crosses borders, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) with our processors, the UK IDTA addendum where applicable, and adequacy decisions where available.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change. Material changes will be flagged via email to subscribers and at the top of this page for at least 30 days.
